Background:
Matrix Systems & Technologies, Inc. recently provided critical support to American University through Web Independent Verification & Validation (Web IV&V) and the facilitation of the Web redesign for the university’s website, american.edu. The redesign aimed to transform the website into an intuitive tool that effectively portrays the university’s unique character and incorporates web services for its user community.

- Served as an independent organization to provide IV&V on a project level.
- Worked with the university’s Web Committee to ensure the redesign stayed on schedule, adhered to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and managed budgets.

Background:
Critical activities identified for this project included, but were not limited to:
- Define an application classification model for classifying applications into different categories based on a specific set of criteria
- Define support requirements for each application category
- Create a complete inventory of the organization’s applications, including unsupported “shadow” applications across different areas in the organization
- Define a baseline for IT support and service requirements based on the application classification model
- Assess gaps between current support and baseline support; define an action plan to close the gaps
