IRS

Project: IRS PRIME

At the outset of the PRIME contract, Matrix Systems worked in partnership with the PRIME team to assist the IRS in structuring the test organization, test environments, test phases, and test scheduling mechanisms to facilitate the parallel delivery of several significant modernization efforts, including e-services and CADE. This support consisted of the following:

  1. Defining the program-level verification and validation plan, and the supporting processes, standards, and procedures that were deployed for use on all PRIME project efforts supported by resources from the centralized, Program-level verification and validation organization, IT&D
  2. Planning the initial system test plan, developing test planning details to include coverage of functional requirements, performance, usability in compliance with accessibility regulations
  3. Developing test scenarios followed by detailed test procedures to validate all categories of requirements
  4. Developing data specifications and data to support the specified test scenarios
  5. Performing test execution, test results analysis, and test daily test status reporting
  6. Developing summary reports to document the results at the conclusion of the test period
  7. Coordinating PRIME and IRS test activities as the release moves through the test environment to the production environment

In support of IT&D and the PRIME Alliance, Matrix Systems provided guidance and coordination to ensure that each system component met requirements when integrated with the rest of the release and when integrated with the enterprise upon deployment. The most noteworthy result of this initial 4 year effort to initially develop processes, standards and procedures, and then refine them based on lessons learned on multiple project deployments is that, in 2006 the IRS incorporated the PRIME IT&D set of standards and procedures into it’s own process baseline.
